Some files don't download in IE6

hey Y'all,

A co-worker is using IE6.0, and when he clicks on a download link, instead of launching a download dialog, it simply goes to a page with a little x-ed out icon in the upper left corner, and then displays the address, ending in the filename, in the address bar. It never launches a download, and on some sites a right-click won't work. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's as if there's a program that thinks it's a plugin for files like that. If he right-clicks on a link and clicks "Save Target As..." does that work?
