footers" on SGForum posts

Post by John Pelz »

Could someone enlighten a newbie, please?

I've noticed that when certain Forum-members post, there are "footers" at the end of their post. These footers might be a link to the member's home-page, or list what steel guitars the member owns/plays.

How do you set things up so that you can display such a footer? Thanks in advance.

John;
At the top of the page, click on "Your Profile" it will take you to where you make your own. (BTW: Not the profile on each post.)

Actually, take it one step further--go to "your profile" and find the "signature" box. Whatever you enter here will become the footer if you select the "show signature"
box at the bottom of you posting box.

Thanks for the help, Ernie and Jon. Do I have to click "show signature" on each message I post (assuming that I want to show my signature on each post) or is there a default setting that will allow my signature to always be shown? ie- not having to click "show signature" each time I post.

The default is no sig. You need to check the box each time.

WHERE DID you get that "DERBY" FROM, and, how did you put it in your "Profile"?
I don't WANT a Derby, But, I was thinking that where you got that from, you/we might have a choice. Been playing around with this computer for 3 years, and I'm STILL "Missing it." Image

Put the "http://" in your image link, like this:

BTW: If you want to know how somebody did one thing or another, above the post click on "edit". You won't be able to make any postable changes, but you can see what they typed to get what you see.

Thanks guys. I was just browsing and realised I'd missed all this when I first started on the forum ..... I guess I just thought people who had those fancy signatures were just smarter than me!!
