GarageBand ???
Can many different chords be played with the loops of GB? How does one make a song thet has altered dominants and diminished chords and other chords such as those?

When I was growing up there were no garage bands because there were no garages.....That would have been a waste of resources, so, we had living-room bands! As little as I know about music, I learned it there!

I don't think that GarageBand knows about chords. Band In A Box does, but it's not available for OS X yet. GarageBand is more like a fancy digital recorder.

... It is possible to make chords in garage band. Although its no easy. If you have a midi or usb keyboard, all you have to do is record yourself playing those chords on a channel with a "virtual instrument". As far as writing them in like in Band in a box, its not posible.
What you CAN do, is double click on a midi region (Not audio) and move the notes around or add notes by pressing the command key and clicking in the piano roll area.
By the way, its funny how many times I have seen garage band and Band in a Box mentioned in the same sentence. This happens alot even in the Band in a Box forums! I suppose its the fact that the garageband GUI is as easy and intuitive as Band in the Box's is NOT....
anyway, hope this helps
