Making reverb work in a Patchbay

I have everything setup just like I want it, but can't figure out how to get my reverb unit to work in the patchbay! I already have my mixer in the patchbay-half-normalled,and out to my soundcard. I'm getting a great signal back to my pc, but how do I setup the reverb unit? I've tried a lot of different settings and sometimes I get a good signal but no reverb! I'm using TRS connectors so I know the cords are right, I just can't figure out how to connect the verb in the patchbay to make it work!

Hi Denny,

Without knowing any more about your setup I'll take a shot at it. The output of the mixer (either main or monitor out) should be the stereo feed to the line inputs of the sound card. The patch bay will be connected to the aux sends/returns of your mixer so you can patch your processors in and out as needed. Once you patch your external reverb processor into its aux loop on the patch bay you can control the amount of reverb on each mixer channel by adjusting the corresponding aux send on each channel. Depending on your setup you may be able to select whether or not you want the reverb to be included in the main bus outputs. This is the way you can hear reverb while tracking but record dry if you want to do that.

You mentioned that you're using TRS plugs. Does your mixer have 'patch points' or 'insert points' instead of separate ins/outs for each send/return? If so, you will need an insert cable (TRS on one end y-ing out to two mono lines; one for send and one for return). If it has separate ins and outs, just use a standard mono unbalanced cable.
