Which one? The back button in Internet Explorer, the one on an IntelliMouse, or the backspace key on your computer?

Does nothing happen when you click it?

If it's grayed out, that means there isn't (or it doesn't think) there is a page to go back to. If it's not grayed out and nothing happens when you click it, try your keyboard backspace key and see if that works. Other than that, I don't have a clue, except to try reinstalling Internet Explorer.

Can you click on the little 'downward pointing arrow' directly between the 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons to display the most recently accessed pages?

Yes it's the button on the screen. The alt.arrow does nothing either. The button on the screen is not grayed out. It acts just like it's supposed to when you click the mouse pointer on it. Yes, I can bring down the last viewed pages with the arrow beside the button, but when I click on one of the sites listed, nothing there either. It's probably this stinkin' XP. I haven't liked it since I got it. Thanks again guys. Jim I'D RATHER BE STEELIN'
