Web Site?
Hi guys,
Just put up a new web site and am looking for some help. I have a DSL connection so my load times are short. I'd like to know if the site takes to long to load up for the people with dial up connections. The main page has to pics on it and the rest is text. The second page has about 6 pics on it of the refurbishing of my D10. Let me know. http://www.gwixon.com
Thanks,
George

George;
I was connected at 44,000 BPS. I got about an inch of each picture and it timed out.
The text came up right away. Sorry I didn't make it to the Bud restoration page.

George,
The pictures look great! Man what a great Sho~Bud!
Here is the issue...you need to get your .jpg pictures a little smaller in size. Do you have a photo editing application? If so, try reducing the resolution to 72dpi. That should bring the size of the photo's down and make them load a little quicker. Right now the photo's are roughly 245kb! Photo's should be around 20-40 kb in size. Try reducing the resolution and see how they look.

Thanks for the replies.
Mark, I can resize as well as resample so there's no problem killing some of the resolution. There's also a way to make them low res on the site and have the user's computer bring them up to high res for a faster loading time as well. The other way would be to make them thumb nails and have the user click on them for a bigger pic. I'll see what I can come up with as I plan to evolve this site into something for everyone. Also thanks for the nice comments on the guitars. Thought you may like the little stories that went along with it and it's all true.

Nice photos. It did take a while to load though. If you made some thumbs about 25% of original size then display them at 320 x 240 then link them to the full size shots, it would look like this: http://www.angelfire.com/band2/sundowncountry/try/gwdixon.html
Faster load, but a bit less resolution on the main page.
