I tried that one and n-track. I found n-track to be more user-friendly, and it's cheap. You can try it for free, too. www.n-track.com. Any recording software is only as good as your sound card, though.

Hi gary..
I have purchased Cool Edit and have used it for a few..well..edits !
I still record on the 8 track, transfer to the PC and then use Cool Edit for some final foolin' around.
I like it good enough but I have not yet used it for anything major.
many forum members here do use it though and it is a fine program.
