PayPal Questions
Hello;
I was wondering if some of you who have/use the PayPal sytem would please give me your thoughts about this computerized payment system.I did'nt take it when it was 1st offered a couple of years ago & i understand they have went thru many changes since it started.I buy online sometimes & i am still using Money Order's to pay for my purchases(which is a lot slower).I sometimes see an item on Ebay i am interested in on Ebay but they say the only form of payment they will accept is PayPal..Let me hear from all of you-good or bad-Tell it like you see it so i can hopefully make a better informed decision..
Thanks for your time...Ron

I think Paypal is fantastic. I've been a PayPal member for about 2 years and I've completed several hundred transactions, mostly as a seller, and a couple dozen as a buyer. Never had a problem, not even one.
Sometimes people have trouble connecting and completing transactions, but that's usually because of problems with their own server, not with the Paypal site. I've had a Paypal "shopping cart" on my site for a year and half, and it works very well.

PayPal is the best way for people outside of the USA to order CDs and strings from the Forum. I had a small hassle with them a while back (I entered a wrong credit card number and they froze my PayPal account for week while they verified my ID), but overall it's a very good service, and it's very secure.

I am from South Africa and this country is not supported by PayPal.
So anybody connected to PayPal for selling purposes loses business coming from South Africa.
I buy from Canadian suppliers because they support credit cards.
Does anybody know if PayPal will change their support system?

PAYPAL is an excellent means of Internet financial transactions. In many cases it's what makes the deal. We use it for our business as well as other over the Internet transactions including EBAY, which I believe now owns PAYPAL.
As a Premier PAYPAL member the only comment I would have is to pay attention to the fees. You can get hit both ways. Paypal fee and your credit card fee . And if you want them to mail you a check another fee may be in the works. It's about the fee's...
Our business is registered as a merchant for Visa, MC and Amex..A typical fee for both Visa and MC is under 2% while Amex can run at around 3.5%. PAYPAL standard fee's are higher than the typical Visa or MC fee..just be aware...
I have seen many EBAY posts reflecting an added charge for PAYPAL fee's lately..I'm not suprised.
But at the end of the day..it's an excellent service and I'm glad it's there.
