number lock

Hi, I'm a new face here. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I need to get it solved. When I write up an email and use numerals to express a calendar date, a cash amount,even if I use quotation marks, I discover that the recipient sees these numbers and symbols as code letters. Looks like gibberish to the recipient. I've tried turning off Num Lock on the keyboard, to no avail. I've been reduced to spelling everything out, for example, send eighty dollars by the twentieth of the month. Let's try it and see what happens, this is a test,OK? send $80 dollars by the "20th". We'll see if this phrase is fouled up when I post to the Forum. Thanks for any input. Bill Gates is The Devil.

David,

What is your email client? Do you know if you are sending plain text emails or HTML emails? If you are using Outlook as your client, are you using Word as your email editor. Sounds like an ASCII character issue. Post your client and other info and we will get you straightened out.

Thanks Mark, as you can see the phrase came thru alright without the coding. I'm using Outlook and most often I'll use plain text because it easily changes the print size to something larger for my vision impaired recipients. Don't know if I'm using Word for email editor. Sorry.
