The Amazing Slow Downer
I just stumbled into this website and thought this would be interesting to a lot of players out there. Haven't had a chance to download and test the software yet, but it's free.
It claims the ability to slow down 400% (a song at 120bps playing back at 30bps). It runs on Windows and Mac(OS9 & 10) computers and will playback from a CD in your computer drive.
Hopefully someone with some time can download it and test drive it for us.
From everything I can see, it's a free download.

I have been using this software for a long time. I made a post about it way back yonder about how cool it was. The best thing about it is you don't have to "record" anything to your hard drive first. It reads directly from the CD. Another cool thing is you can write a file to your drive of any lick, intro, etc. from a CD and have it instantly on hand. I have a little library of snippets on my laptop that I pull up whenever I get to thinking I know how to play...you know, "Humbler"-type stuff
The demo is free, but the full version costs 30.00 or so as well as I remember. Support response is very fast, too.
Oh yeah, Jim. www.ronimusic.com (I think)
[This message was edited by Tommy Detamore on 27 September 2002 at 11:15 AM.]

My apologies for my smart-aleck response above. This thing is apparently called The Amazing Slow Downer. I didn't realize it. Sounds good. Anyone know how it compares with Slow Blast?
[This message was edited by Jim Cohen on 10 October 2002 at 07:26 AM.]

Transkriber 2.0 by Reed Kotler is another great software program that I use. You can record an entire song (according to the amount of space on your Hardrive). Has loop capability. It will slowdown the music in more denominations than I can post here. You can also change keys with it or double time a song in varying increments. You can isolate the left and right channels with it and has a vocal eliminator so that just the lead instrument(s) can be heard. Many other functions too numerous to mention here. The CD with shipping included is about $55.
