Windows version 3.1 had 6 disks, with an extra one for the mouse driver and one for system startup. DOS 6.1 also had 6 disks.

That is pretty funny. I was at work on Friday and was cleaning out or software closet. I found a old version of Lotus 1-2-3 and it took 34 floppies to install it! Man, thank god for CD-ROM's! I also found a version of Office 95 and it was 22 floppies! Wow, brings back memories.

MS Office was 30 floppies.

So installing DOS, Windows, Office, and a few drivers was darn near 50 floppys.

(Note the two different spellings of the plural of floppy, one must be correct)
