ethernet network

Post by Joel Glassman »

Hi everyone--
I won a laptop at work and am using
Soundforge and a Mackie mixer to record
to two tracks. Works really well.
The results are huge wave files. At 1MB/minute they're too big to copy to floppies.
I'm trying to think of a way to get files out from the notebook
onto my PC so I can burn CDs.
I have a small ethernet hub and cable.
Is it hard to set-up a little network?
Not sure if additional software is needed.
I can't seem to find directions for doing something so basic. Any thoughts?
thanks--Joel

I use an ethernet card in my laptop and also installed one in my desktop.
It's easy and fast to move large files from one computer to the other.
If you need specifics let me know.
Except for the cost of the ethernet cards, it's simple.
Another option is to use a free version of WINZIP to load your large files onto multiple floppies.
