What happened to my desktop???

All of a sudden my quick launch bar and start menu disappeared. I finally found it burried on the right side. I pulled it accross but it only goes half way. How do i get this back to normal?

Click on a blank part of it and drag it back to where you want it, and drop it there. It you click on its edge (your mouse cursor will be a double headed arrow when you are in the right place) and drag the edge, you can make it wider or narrower.
You can even drag the edge of the task bar to the edge of your screen. If you drop it there, the task bar will be almost invisible. Almost, but not quite. You can still drag the edge back onto the desktop to resize it.

Thanks Earnest, that was a weird experience. I found that i can drag it but only to the next adjacent side. So, i had to pull it up top, then left side, than bottom. Do people actually put this any other place than the bottom?(rhetorical)

I have only seen two people that didn't have their taskbar on the bottom. One was a a woman who preferred it on the right edge. She said it looked better to her.
The other was a man. He put it at the top. Said it made sense to have it up there with the menus, title bars, web addresses, etc.
