Musical Program

Post by Paul Graupp »

I'm trying to get a Grandson started on reading music and was going to lay out a staff for him and print it. I said I'll just go into Works and draw some lines and put in some letters.....WRONG !!

Is there a program I could purchase that will give me these capabilities ?? I don't need tab etc for steel guitar but rather basic music structures like staff lines, bars, cleff signs, notes etc.

Apreciate the help !!

Regards, Paul

Paul,
These 2 have been mentioned many times before on the Forum, but here they are again:
www.tabledit.com - guitar/multi-instrument tab program
www.pgmusic.com - Band-in-a-Box

Hope this helps.

Hi Paul:
Last year I went into a computer supply store and started going through their CD-Roms and found a little MusicWrite program which would be perfect for your grandsons needs I think.
It's put out by Voyetra and allows you to write and print music on the treble stave.
It costs only $15.00. They have enhanced versions which are more expensive of course.
Do a "Voyetra" search and you will find the web page.
This software is not directed specifically to steel guitar. It is general in nature.
