Does Peavey still sell 1501-4 shallow basket?

Amplifiers, effects, pickups, electronic components, wiring, etc.

Does Peavey still sell the 1501-4 Black Widow shallow basket speaker? If so, where is it on their website?

Thanks!

Dan

Yes, we do! The item number is #00027020 and the U.S. MSRP is $89.99 plus shipping from the factory. Our parts department phone number is 1-877-732-8391, ext. 1386.

Thanks Mike!

Right after I posted my question, I googled "1501-4 sb" (why didn;t I do this in the first place??) and came up with what seems to be the same speaker listed under low frequency drivers for about double the price. Also different item # (00027010). What's the difference?

Thanks.

Dan, maybe the other speaker was just from a different distributor? I've noticed that some dealers aren't ashamed at all to charge twice the going price for certain items.

Sounds like Mike quoted the price of the replacement basket, not the entire speaker assembly. I do not believe Peavey Parts will sell a complete speaker, that would compete with their dealers.

Thanks guys,

in the meantime. I suppose I should just call the parts department and see what the scoop is.

In the meantime, I'm thinking I should play out my twinwith the 2 12s for a while to see what the sound of the amp is before trying out the 15.

p.s. Ken--the head cab is working out great!

Ken is correct with his response. However, we still offer the complete 1501-4 sb speaker.

Dyke Corson carries this speaker at Corson music and very reasonable. I think he's listed in the dealers here.

Mike, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's the DT, or "deep throw" B/W speaker line, that was discontinued?

No. All BW's are a deep basket style. Only the 1501-4 sb(short basket) is manufactured for steel guitar.
[This message was edited by Mike Brown on 09 August 2006 at 06:32 AM.]
