How do you guys like them. What is the best kind to get??? Any Pro's and Con's??

The pros are
Fun to fool with
Many different sounds

The major con is
There is no midi pickup/interface for 10 or 12 string pedal steel being made today so you have to either find an old one like a SteelRider or try to cobble something together from two of the Roland guitar synth pickups.

Not for the faint of heart
Can be costly and difficult to put together and maintain

I have a Roland GR-09 that I use on my lead guitar and I plan to use it on my new steel when I get it. I'm not to worried about the lac of coverage of all strings because the very low strings don't track very good any way so I'll just slide the pickup under the top 6 strings.

A company named IVL use to make a system called pitchrider and made a pu for all strings but they are pretty rare these days and like I said I can live without the bottom string coverage.
