About RV-3

Does anyone know anything about a RV-3?? I just bought one from a forum member and the light does not work.I do not know if the RV-3 works or not as I never had one before.I hope I can get some help with this problem. I E-mailed him and he said the light worked when I shipped it. I think that is a likely story.I hope I did not get taken for my $105.00.I never got anything from anyone on the forum before and if I got the shaft. That will be the last time I buy from someone I do not know.Any help would be appreciated.

You gotta plug the chords in and make sure it has a battery or a power supply hooked up before the light will come on.

Hi sam if its lke mine the light wont work until the cords are plugged in.

...and just because I thought I'd mention it, if you are using a power supply you can't just use any as the RV-3 requires the kicked up PSA-120, same power for the digital delays & to power the BCB-6 (Boss Carrying Box). FWIW.

I have all the plugs pluged in and I have a battery and a PSA-120T power pack pluged in and the light just does not want to work.I know some of you are Joking but I'm kind of up set that it took me awhile to get this damn thing as I kept getting beat out on E-Bay and the forum . Someone else would always bet me to one I posted for.

Does the reverb and delay work?
I've seen the lights on stomp boxes go dead before, even though the unit works fine otherwise.

I bet I know what it is!!!

On the opposite end from the power plug-in there is a screw (the screw that you need to back-out to change the battery).
While holding the on/off switch in the depressed position, back that screw most of the way out, so that the lid flips up WITH NO RESISTANCE.

Flip the lid up as if you are going to change the battery.
You will see that there is a rubber gromet on a hole on the body of the unit.
(When working properly, the rubber gromet cushons the screw stem when the on/off switch is pressed).

That gromet can sometimes get deformed or nocked out of place, and when this happens it blocks the on/off switch from being able to move far enough to actually turn the effect on or off!

THE LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON IF THIS IS THE CASE, even though "it seems like" you can push the on/off switch normally.

Make sure the gromett is seated correctly.

Note: If you don't back that screw out far enough when you open the lid, it may nock the gromet out of place when you go to close the lid on the new battery.

When you go to close the lid, hold the on/off switch in a postion that makes sure the stem goes into the hole without nocking the grommet out of its groove again (you may need to partially or fully depress the on/off switch as you screw the screw in).

PS
If you have a working power supply, you probably won't ever have to open that battery compartment again.

I heard that the rv 3 is prety fine to use but the rv-5 is even better for the price and size frank

I had an RV-3 and if I had a battery in it, the light automatically comes on when you plug any cord into the INPUT-JACK. You might have the wrong AC-adaptor. Try just plugging a cord into the Input-Jack. (no AC-adaptor) the light should come on if it's working properly. You don't need a cord in the out-put jack for the Red-Light to come on, and you don't need an AC-Adaptor. Just plug a guitar-cord into the Input with nothing on the other end. Just one plug inserted will answer your question. (Working or not-working) You don't even have to push te switch down, just plug in the plug. {I feel like a case of double-talk} But, it's simple to check it out! [Put a battery in]

John I tryed what you said and everything that I could think of. The light just does not work and I think the guy i bought it from new it as sold it to me any way.I will post it for sale and tell the truth that the light does not work. As far as it working on the Delay and reverb it is fine. I just bought a RV-5 so I won't need the RV-3.
