Midi foot pedal recommendations

This is mainly a question for six-stringers who use rack mounted effects.

I have a Roland GP-100 that I really like but I don't have a pedal board that can select patches in real time. I've been trying to snag an FC-200 but the more research I do I realize that even though it's the one desinged for the GP-100 it might not be the best one.

Anyone have experience with the different brands of midi foot switches out there? I want a midi controller only, no effects on the board since the GP-100 has all I need.

Do you really have a spare foot to change effects? If so I would just use another box such as Boss GT-6 that is built for guitar players to stomp on. GT-6 is much newer technology , easier to use and edit, higher quality sounds, cheap, etc.

A cheap way to send MIDI program change commands is to use a small battery powered synthesizer.

I have a Brand new ADA midi pedalboard which will do everything but play for you. I got it from ADA when they could not fix mine (after it got 120V AC through it). New in box. Uses 7 or 5 pin midi cabe. Was about $300 new; yours for $150. You could probably get a tiny old Casio MIDI keyboard for free, or five dollars.

I have a boss FC-100 foot controler I picked up used for 100€, which means in the US about $75, works fine.

I can put it on my wire suitcase, on my steel case next to my hand,
I use it right hand, and just hit it when you need a change.
Then I can do a change mid song if I want.

I am thinking of a 1 or 2 leg folding stand with a clamp for the steel leg.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll do a little research on the FC-100 and the ADA and see if I like them. I don't plan on using this set up on a steel gig, just guitar. I have enough trouble with 3 pedals and a volume pedal!
