Deltafex for steel?
Since Peavy has discontinued all the other
"fexes" has anybody tried the Deltafex for
steel? If so, how does it work out?

I owned a Deltafex and I was happy with it's sound. The thing it is most criticised for is that it has no memory and each change must be manually set with the appropriate dials on the unit.

I wasn't downing the Deltafex Mike....I thought I was saying good things about it, and I bought it because of the price that was less than a Profex (which I also bought later). Did I say anything incorrectly or did I "diss" the unit?

In short, I didn't like mine.
The delay "attenuator" was not that at all but a 12 3 6 9 "preset selector" and you had to live with one of the presets. For finding a correct "tempo" of repeats for the "60s" multi-note groove, it was useless.
When I complained and wanted to return it, I was told " What do you expect for $175.00?" And Peavey told me that it was "up to the dealer".
I would imagine the other "attenuators" were similar.
In that price range, and actually lower, the Behringer processor has it beat to hell.
I went ahead and bought a Pod xt to be done with all the lowball foolishness.
The Deltafex also only lasted about a year of bandstand use.

Gene, I didn't take it that way. I was just pointing out that the only thing in common between the Profex/Tubefex/Transtube Fex is that they all are signal processors. The functions and features are not the same as the Deltafex is non programmable and that is a big part of pricing structure.
Eric, I don't think that I've met you but invite you to drop by the Peavey Demo Room if you visit the upcoming Texas Steel Guitar Jamboree in Fort Worth. I'll be glad to show you what our company is all about. We proudly support the steel guitar community whenever possible and I believe that you will find that we design and manufacture the best products possible and at "working musicians prices". Then, I invite you to visit the other amplifier manufacturers booths at the show and compare. Since you have owned a Tubefex in the past, you could see that it is a computer and takes some effort on your part to learn its functions and programmability capabilities. No, it might not be everyone's choice in a processor, but it has endless possibilities and was wayyyy ahead of its time.
As far as a refund, each authorized Peavey dealer maintains their own store policies concerning returns, defective merchandise, etc.. If the Tubefex wasn't the device that you thought that you needed, it is up to that dealer to advise you of his store policies. The Peavey warranty is included when you purchase the product from an authorized dealer. At the time that we manufactured the Tubefex, our parts and labor warranty covered a period of one year from the date of purchase. We now offer a 5 year limited warranty. We haven't manufactured the Tubefex for at least six years now.

Mike. I think I mis specified, as it was a Deltafex that I didn't care for and had the disgruntling "dealer experience" with. I answered because the topic was inre to the Deltafex.
It has simply stopped me from dealing with him, Not Peavey.
No matter.
I will probably always use the Session 500 and Nashville 400s that I have and will undoubtably buy a Nashville 112 as money allows.
There are plusses and minuses with large volume low price companies. To think that there are only plusses is a bit of wishful thinking.
I'm still waiting for the differences in the slot size between the pre'79 BW 1505 magnets and the current BW 1505 magnets, so I can rebasket my speaker without having my authed factory guy have to ship yet another basket back. I see no need to make anybody have to either manufacture one more than twice, or I'd have him send the basket back again. I'll be glad to buy a new magnet, and I will when I have the money. Whatever I have to pay, I won't accept a slightly rubbing coil. I'll also have the authed repair guy do it as I did the last one so as to eliminate any question of error on my part.
I don't think I'll be making any shows or conventions this year as I'm either busy working days, picking jobs, and/or subbing for local guys.
Matter of fact on Mar 12-13 I'm subbing for a local guy, Dale Grandstrom, so he can go to the Texas Show. I'll be sure to send my regards with him. (While I''m playing through my Session 500/Nvl400/Pod xt.)

Eric, I just didn't know the angle that you were shooting from. We do have Peavey sales reps that visit territories within North America, but what you need to understand is that authorized Peavey dealers own and operate their own businesses, and Peavey Electronics sells product to them. We also support them when warranty issues and other matters arise, but each of those stores establish there own individual store policies that concern their everyday operations. We can't tell them how they should conduct their business. But, our factory reps maintain good relationships by visiting the dealers and discussing their needs.

However, if you purchase a product and then find that it is not what you wanted, the dealers store policy takes precedence over Peavey's policy.

I have been satisfied with all Peavey Products that I have used and the customer service! But, inquiring minds want to know!
