Mike Brown, Please help, or Anyone who knows

I have just bought a Session 400 "limited" Amp, and my question is this...I have a Pro-Fex 11 that I want to patch to this amp, but, I get No response. On the LEFT side,(Front of the amp) I have "Pre-EQ Patch", and on the Right side of the amp, I have "Effects 1 Patch" and next to that, I have "Effects 2 Patch", I have tried ALL 3, and I get nothing. I am "Sending" & "Returning" as I am to do, But, something is not right. Wayne Cox came by yesterday, and he first told me that he had never heard of a "Peavey 400 Limited" to begin with. We "Patched" every way possible, but, I guess I am doing something wrong here. If someone who knows of this amp, and the proceedure of hooking it up right, I would appreciate your knowlage and help. This amp is, of course a used one, and I have thought that something might be broke, and if so, I will see if I can get my money back. The guy I bought it from said that it was his from the time he bought it, and said that there was nothing wrong with the amp. He sold it to me because it is TOO HEAVY, and I agree....But, it is a "Kick-Butt" amp to say the least.

Hello Ron,
Here's the proper way to connect the Peavey Profex II to be used as an effects processor. Using a shielded cable, connect from the POST EQ SEND jack to the frontpanel of the Profex II. Then, using a second shielded cable, connect from one of the two output jacks on the backpanel of the Profex II to the POST EQ RETURN jack. Then, connect your guitar like you normally would through the frontpanel inputs on the Session 400 Limited.

Ron,
Why don't you try just going straight out of the ProFex into the regular input. I do suggest if you do this that you turn the reverb control on the amp to off.
That's what I've done with all the Peavey amps I've had over the years including a pair of Session 400 Limiteds.
I've tried all the possible hook ups and I like it that way the best.
And, I know all of the electronic wizzards say that that's not the correct way to do it, but it's worked for me for years.

Thanks for the info Mike and Bobby. Mike, it worked quite well. Bobby, the way you suggested is the way I have been doing it for ever. I know what you mean about "Not Doing it the way you are supposed to", but, I wanted to "Loop" this pup like a Nashville cat (Fiddle Player) showed me back in the 80's, and that was to use 2 cords from the "Send & Return" From the Profex to my Old Evans, and use 1 cord FROM the Steel Output to the Amp input. The way Mike told me to do it is a way I was not aware of, but, works great. One more question though, if I have 2 more "Send & Returns" can I, lets say, "Patch" the Volume pedal in either one of those? Seems like it would work. When I get a chance, I will try it. Ron,

the Pre-EQ send/return next to the input jacks of the Session 400 LTD is for the volume pedal. Plug the guitar into the regular input, run a chord from pre-EQ send to the input of the vol ped and another chord from the pre-EQ return to the output of the vol ped.

The second FX send/return may be used for additional effect e.g. a Leslie simulator like the H&K Rotosphere.

You could also run you preamp through the preamp-out/power amp-in jacks in the back of the Session. Preamp-out to Pro-Fex in, Pro-Fex out to power amp in. That way, the preamp section (the tone controls) of the Session is completely bypassed. The Session then only acts as a power amp.
