RP100 or Genesis2
If you had to replace your QuadraVerb (assuming you have one), would you replace it with a RP100 or a Genesis 3? I will soon have to replace my
Quad.
Sorry, the subject should have read, "RP100 or Genesis 3" -- Not Genesis 2.
[This message was edited by Leroy Riggs on 02 September 2003 at 06:21 PM.]

I think the Genesis 3 has newer, more advanced circuitry than the RP100 - I guess it would be a question of how important is the footswitch vs. desktop feature. If I read the blurbs right, the Genesis lets you blend a percentage of the processed tones with a clean tone, which is the best way to avoid that "now he switched on the fuzztone" rude awakening sound IMO. I'm saving my pennies for a GNX3, for the recording capabilities, but by the time I have the $400 set aside they'll probably have something new out....

Buddy E. borrowed someone's Genesis 3 for his set in St Louis so I guess that says a lot about it quality. I think I will look at it seriously. The are on sale for $150 here:
