What does it take to do the steel mod to a Blue Tube II.

I asked the Genz-Benz people this and they told me about a $100. They only install the mod at the factory so you will have to send the preamp to them.
The were not willing to send the mod kit.

What is this mod. I have a Bluetube. I mostly use a synth through it, but it's a nice preamp for the price.

I have used a Blue Tube II for years. It doesn't have the mod but I don't know how it could sound any better. I sure wouldn't pay $100 to find out.

I worked on one of these for a friend, about a year ago. The mod was just a couple of caps on the clean side, probably filters. But it looked sloppy, Genz-Benz was not helpful at all, and if they charged 100.00 for THAT mod(and I'm not saying they did it), then I'll never do business with them.

I have to expect it is much like the mod for Profex II. Peavey was kind enough to send me a detailed diagram so that I could do it myself.
