Fix spring reverb on Peavey?

Post by Al Terhune »

I just bought a used Backstage Plus to tote around to acoustic rehearsals, etc. Hey, the little sucker sounds great. But the spring reverb is not working.

What's my checklist?

Thanks.

I DID do a search before I posted and did read problems with hum and feedback, but no absence of reverb, and the main suggestion seemed to be to spray the connector and clip it on and off a few times.

Well, I did that, and the reverb is now working. Thanks, again, bOb, for this forum.

Al,
That Molex connector that connects the reverb tank to the amp is one of the most notorious failure points in Peavey amps (and some others as well).

Glad you found the problem.
