Hi Gary,
the peavey amps are probably the only other
reasonably priced steel guitar power amps.
Your Stewart is the other one on the market
that I know of. Oh! I forgot about the
Walker. It is a great amp for steel with
built in preamp.
If you decide to get rid of your stewart
let me know.
thanks,
Jim

Gary...Stewart has a 1.2 (1200 watt)version of the power amp you have. You can get info on it from the Carter site. Let me be second in line if you want to sell the one you have.
Thanks,
Roger

Gary,

I've got a Stewart World 1.2 that I have been using for about four years. I can't imagine needing more power than it is capable of. You're welcome to come over and check it out.

I use a Mesa/Boogie 50/50 (50 watss per side). Seems like plenty of power to me. I can't imagine needing more.

Sent you an email on a Crest amp a friend has for sell. Attached to it is .pdf (Adobe Acrobat reder) file. I understand (from a friend of mine in a sound company in Georgia) that they are one of the largest manufacturers of power amps in the world.

Move up to the Stewart World 1.2. Another good amp, although it's two rack spaces and adds weight, is the TubeWorks Mosvalve 1500. Huge power.

VHT 2/90/2 is the ultimate power amp. Heavy and expensive, but sounds wonderful!

The VHT is a tube amp that is hand built in California. I am very happy with mine... but it is awfully heavy.

I use a Hafler power amp. I also use them for critical studio monitoring because they have great frequency response. A nice open sound. Very clean.

I purchased a Carvin 1000 watt bridged or 500 watt stereo, after hearing Bill Stafford's Carvin. It is 2 rack spaces and weighs 23 lbs. Comes with a 3 year warranty and has great tone and very quite with the automatic variable speed cooling fan.

I have a Rolls RA2200A power amp, 2 spaces, 200 watts per ch. @ 4 ohms, weighs 10 or 12 lbs. Very warm, and clean sounding, I like it a lot. I use a ProfexII for preamp and effects.
