Is anyone using 705's on a LeGrande? If so,
how did you solve the clearance problem?
Thank,s

Jerry, I have 705's on one of my LeGrande III's. Sleazmour put them on and all I know is that there is no mounting plate. I do remember that the "crowbar" on each neck caused a clearance problem.

You can raise the mounting plate and use
double sided tape . I have them on a 74
Emmons p/p. I like mine, however I made an
aluminum Plate to mount the 705's on and it mounts like the Emmons pickups do .

I have 705's on my Franklin. Is there a better pickup to give a little more clarity and definition? They are very warm sounding, but I think a few great players (Corky Owens) have swithced out at least the E9 pickup to ????

thx

I took the mounting plate off the 705 and laying it into the cavity it strikes the changer axle pillar block support and will not leave enough clearance for the strings. I don't know if my pillar block supports are thicker than normal or what but it just don't have enought clearance. I don't want to grind anything off the pillar supports.
