TubeFex problem??

My TubeFex just died. It was working great earlier in the day and this afternoon went to play some and no sound. all the knobs and buttons seem to work and can scroll through all the patches but just no sound. I've hooked my guitar straight to the amp and it works ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Eddie

Check the Global gain settings. However, since it's a TubeFex it could be the 12AX7 preamp tube died.

Try an effects chain that does not have the "TB" in it and see if that works (e.g. one of the old Profex II programs). If it does that probably confirms that the preamp tube is bad.

You may have already tried this but plug into the input on the rear. Sometimes the jacks can go haywire.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys but just as mysteriously as it went out it came back on this morning hooked up the same way that I always have. I have no idea as to what was wrong. I just moved it off the preset that i use most of the time and there was sound and moved it back and it still works so I'm thankful for that. I did leave the cartridge in overnight. Could that have been a problem? Anyway thanks for all the help. Maybe I should schedule it for the repair shop just in case. Eddie

The cartridge couldn't have caused the problem. It now sounds more like a bad cord. But, if it does come back try a "factory reset" since you have a ram card with your user programs on it. A factory reset will wipe out what is in user memory and it will have to be reloaded.

You may have inadvertantly turned the volume down on that patch via the front volume knob. It will stay that way until you switch to another patch, then come back.
