I tried the Johnson (Millenium) "J-station" box and was impressed! It seemed to have alot more easy accessable patches that are designed for non-overdriven-high headroom type playing.....plus it has some bass amp models that I bet would be a good starting point for pedal steel patches.
I guess the word on the street is that the Johnson unit has better clean sounds & effects...whereas the POD has got the actual
vintage amp models nailed a little closer.

Has anybody used the Bass-POD with steel? Could turn out pretty cool.

The main difference between the POD and the POD pro is that the POD pro is rack mounted, has an efx loop, and has digital outs (SPIF). I couldn't tell any sonic differences.
