Jude,

Copicats like the one in the picture were sold under the name Kent (Hagström) in Sweden, and I have seen one for sale on eBay, it was labeled Guild. I don't know if they ever were sold under Watkins/WEM -name over there in the US but the Guild echo is the same thing...hope this helps!

Thanks Max, that is a great help, I cannot live without a tape echo tone for my steel or my guitar, Jude.

Hi

I once owned a WEM copycat and I must say I was quite dissapointed, same with an Echoplex. The WEM uses quite strange tubes...
try an Binson Echorec, a Echolette or the German Dynachord "Echochord" Super !! If you can't find one, I might part with mine.

I've had a couple of 'em and wore the heads off em haha. The used ones I've seen have all had a lotta head wear. Don't see them much anymore what with all the newer digital devices out there........

Guild was the U.S. distributor for the WEM Copycat in the 60's and early 70's.At that time they also handled the Binson Echorec from Italy. In the mid 70's they imported H-H products.

The new Line 6 Modeling Delay Pedal has a couple of echoplex settings, both tube and solid-state, that are pretty scary.

It's a great box, and reasonably priced,too.

This is interesting, I wonder, are H-H Electronics amps available too in the US? You see I am thinking of heading over for a few months this year and would like to try get my current setup over there for when I need it if possible.
