Re: Show Us Your Old Tube Amp
The Gibson GA-50 (non-tremolo) I use with my newly acquired Gibson Console Grande:
The original covering was completely shredded and I recovered it with actual leatherette. I found a nice Gibson Historic badge on eBay way back when and thought it would go well in place of the original logo.
I also have a Gibson BR-6, which I restored in the same way.

Re: Show Us Your Old Tube Amp
Well, the Woody is upstairs, but this little Supro is nearby:
Got it with the matching 6-string lapsteel for 350$, I think I got a great deal! Run a pedal into it and it sounds like a Marshall stack. Has the octal preamp tube, so I'm guessing early to mid '50s. EDIT: X71xxx serial number puts it at 1957 (thread on here!).

Re: Show Us Your Old Tube Amp

Missed this thread earlier I guess, but I enjoyed this old 60s 6V6 tube Silvertone 1482 for many years. It's doing duty somewhere in the Tahoe area last I heard.

Re: Show Us Your Old Tube Amp
Those old 40s, 50s amps had a lot of vibe, style and artistry. They look great.
I won't post a pic as the vintage doesn't really fit this topic, but I'm using and old Ampeg VT22 all tube amp at the jam barn. It doesn't have the vibe of these other old amps, but it's a monster powerhouse.

my ‘64 Princeton is my sweetest old tuber. I’ve got an old DeArmond in the attic I should drag down and get a picture of.

A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.

My fave, the '61 Brownface pair. What you can't see is the Celestion Blue 12" in the back. They go very well together!

Here's my first "good" rig. My early '61 Ampeg Reverberocket and late '58-early '59 Fender Esquire, along with a very much younger Yours Truly. Pic taken late summer 1961.

Good to see the old girl again Raybob. Glad she's still doing duty out there for the masses. I miss it, but I'm happy it's still going strong."Raybob Bowman"
