I'm selling my birdseye maple 10 string 6140 with 6 foot pedals. It is stamped with 7406 underneath, case is like new, all rack and barrel parts are there, is missing the volume and tone pots but otherwise in excellent shape. It's in excellent shape but will likely benefit from a professional set up.
What should I expect this to sell for?
Thanks, Dennis

Re: Sho-Bud 6140 value
Problem with that guitar is no knee levers.. Easy enough to delete a few pedals and add knees, I've done it on 6149 guitars long ago.. the issue is cost. Guys today are asking and getting $3000-$3500 and beyond for clean round front S10 Sho Buds with 3 pedals 4 levers, which is insanity, but they're "vintage" which today means valuable. However, unless the buyer has 4 Bud lever kits on hand, he'll need to be ready to add around $600 to the cost of the guitar and lots of work if he does the install himself, so you need to consider that in pricing it... I would start at around $2800, and be flexible.. There might be someone out there with a dozen Bud levers that would buy your guitar to flip and sell it for $3500, but the guys that just want a vintage Bud to play outnumber the re sellers... I personally would value your 6140 realistically in the $2500-2700 range these days, if its clean.. Wasn't that long ago, that was around a $1200 guitar, but vintage Bud mania has dictated otherwise... bob
I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Re: Sho-Bud 6140 value
A couple of years, I sold a 6140 on the forum -- that had already been converted to E9th with thee pedals and four levers like a 6139 -- and it went for about $2500.
It's a long shot, but you might find someone who is looking for a single-neck C6th guitar that would be happy to have it?
