Of course Ricky is right on. Here's a discussion from just a couple days ago with a link to the solo tab taken from Ricky's old tab site.

Thanks I kind of thought it was him. I did a two part recorded interview with him in Branson in 1997. Tom felt that he never got his just compliments aside from his together again solo. Of course he did a great break on Garden Party as well as others.

Tom Brumley also played steel on "The Heart That You Own", which was another single on Dwight Yoakam's "If There Was A Way" record-he's the steel player on the record itself, not just certain songs

My one and only time that I ever got to meet Tom was in Las Vegas at an ACM Awards show, We shared a dressing room and I was standing there talking to Tom and our guitar player, Rod Janzen, was next to us talking to Billy Gibbons, Rod and I just kinda looked at each other, like, what the hell is going on? Well, I told Tom how much I liked his tone on that song and he said that he hears that a lot, but he never cared for the tone. He said he played it through a borrowed Lab Series L9 amplifier that he didn't care much for

That’s kind of funny, Tim. We had a bunch of amps for Tom to choose from. Pete Anderson brought a vintage Deluxe, and a Twin, and I think there was a tweed Bassman there. I brought my chrome knob Session 400, and I think there were a couple others. Tom chose the Lab…and I’m not sure how that one got included in the amp buffet.

Whatever…it’s an iconic solo, purely Tom in his inimitable style, chock full of his nuances, played on a really cool black ZB SD11.

He didn't LIKE the tone he generated in that song???????... whatever... Just goes to show, one man's meat is another man's poison.. I loved the sound of that steel part as did most of us.. In any case, the Lab Series L9 amp was as good a solid state amp as was ever built, and they are great steel amps.. As good or better than any of the SS peavey amps of the day IMHO... Not well known amps really, but the guys that used them knew they were good sounding amps.. BB King, Alan Holdsworth,Ronnie Montrose, Ty Tabor all used Lab Series amps.. I had an L7 I think it was.. really good SS amp...

I also wondered why he wouldn't have brought, or requested, whatever amp he wanted for a Dwight session. I thought it was great tone. Ricky Skaggs used a Lab Series amp I think. Before I was in the band though
