Howdy y’all,
I’m trying to figure out all the backup licks Charlie Owens plays on Doug Sahm’s “Is Anybody Going to San Antone”.
I figured out the first 4 simple licks at the end of each line but struggling to figure out what he’s doing on the second 4 of the first verse.
Specifically the licks after “roadside park”, “man could wake up dead” and “warmer than it did”. I’m not great at figuring out what guys are doing on those descending sort of licks that sound like they’re squeezing the A pedal at different positions moving down the neck.
If someone could help me out I think it would really open my mind to the technique for those kind of licks that I really like.
Thanks in advance!

I gave it a shot, I'm new to tabbing things out so not sure 100% correct.Kevin Obrecht wrote: 17 Mar 2026 12:19 pm Forgot to post a link to the song:
