Vox AC30 S-12 with Jupiter speaker

Post by David Wren »

So, today I got to try this "new" amp out with the Jupiter 12LC-50 watt-16ohm replacement speaker. I had the "Gain" turned way down, and the "Volume" turned to about 3:00... trying to get the most of the EL84 tubes in the power amp section.

What a sound, now this would never work on a stage at high volumes. but for recording, or small venues... what a sound!

John, I listened to some of Eric Heywood's playing. No, I kept the "gain" knob down very low, maybe 9:00, so the steel tone was very full, but just on the edge of breakup.

Nice player though, thanks!
