Tom "Ts" McDonald
Tom passed away late Friday evening, February 26th after battling some physical ailments and dementia for nearly two years. He had moved from Arlington to El Campo Texas a few years ago. He was 90 years old. I met him while he was in Oklahoma City on a sales trip in 1974. He worked for a major medical supply manufacturer and called on cardiologists and major heart hospitals throughout Texas and Oklahoma. He also played pedal steel and stopped by Del City Music to see if there was a player nearby that he could visit with. They put him in touch with me, and we became close friends over the years. He took an early retirement to help his cousin Lamar Fike start a music management company in Nashville after Elvis died. They managed Little David Wilkens, Ray Pillow, and for a short time, Lee Greenwood. He was a regular attendee at the Dallas steel show for several years. Tom was larger than life, and he will be missed by those who knew him.
Best lyric in a country song: "...One more, Moon..."

Sad to hear this. I met Tom about 20 years ago. He bought an LDG from me and he and Lamar drove down to pick it up. I’d see him at the Dallas show for several years to follow. Great guy.Go rest high Tom.

I met and became friends with Tom at a Jeff Newman seminar hosted by MSA in Mesquite, Texas in the middle 70's. We talked many times on the phone and always made time for meet ups at the Teas show. I will really miss him.
Kenny Davis can give more information on Tom's background in the medical field. Tom worked closely with heart surgeons.
