Uh oh! Broken piece.

So I was practicing and POP!
Now my right knee lever (lowers E’s) flops around. Turned it over and I broke this piece. What’s this piece called and does anybody know if I could buy and bend some aluminum or steel to make a new length of it? The steel is a Carter U12 from 2002. Thanks for any advice! Closest steel repair shop I know of is in FT Worth, about 3 1/2 hours away.

Also, hardware stores (such as Ace Hardware) sell 3/32" stainless steel rods.

I believe typical Carter pull rods are 7/64", not 3/32". On Carter RKR that jumper rod is actually pushing, not pulling. 3/32" is not really going to cut the mustard, pretty flimsy, it should be at least 7/64". 1/8" would be better but might require drilling out the holes in the reverser crank and the bell crank barrel.

Thanks for the help yall. 3/32nd fit perfect. I don’t think I could’ve fit anything larger. But maybe that’s why it broke in the first place! If it happens again, I’ll know to upgrade.

Time to setup. So glad to have a fully-functional steel to gig with!
