Fender 400 Double Raise, Double Lower
Gene Parsons has a client that wanted a specific copedent on a mid-60's Fender 400. He devised a way to get 2 raises and 2 lowers, both tunable, on a guitar that only had one each available. This guitar will be a 3 x 5 when completed. Will post the copedent later:

Re: Fender 400 Double Raise, Double Lower
Gorgeous work no doubt about it.. However, guys have been doing double raise/lower for decades on Fender cable guitars using the old Sho bud barrel set up or similar, so its not really a "never been done" scenario.. Years ago on those setups, one change was tuned at the endplate and one under the guitar.. I imagine you could even add a third raise or lower using the barrel [or similar] method///bob
I'm over the hill and hittin'rocks on the way down!

Difference here is Gene invented and built a mechanism to do this, he didn't just adapt another existing system to install. Same way to tune, one on the endplate and the other under the guitar.Bob Carlucci wrote: 3 Jan 2026 5:32 pm Gorgeous work no doubt about it..
