suggestions for lap steel stand

I am looking for suggestions for a lap steel stand that i can use standing up....I used to have one of the asher stands and it was great but alas I sold it and now they are really expensive, so i am looking for something less expensive. Maybe a keyboard stand ?

if you have any ideas or have one you are willing to part with, let me know...btw none of my lap steels have sockets for legs

I used a table-style keyboard stand. Adjustable height, adjustable width, and far more stable than any dedicated lap steel stand I've seen.

Yes, shop around for a keyboard stand.

One thing: they usually have only two support points. Go to a hardware store & buy a pre-made shelf. Put that on the stand and put the steel on top of that for better support.

I have used a keyboard stand for two lap steels. Not sure I'd use this on stage as one inadvertent bump could be a disaster.

These are great, portable, sturdy, adjustable stands. I stick a few of those adhesive rubber feet on mine to keep the steel in place/prevent scratching.

For standing I've often used a walker. They're light, they fold flat and the height is adjustable.
