I was looking at a Premier Guitar article about DI boxes and it seems like there are a lot of them on the market, all apparently optimized for six-string. I've been using a Sennheiser E609 (and before that an SM-57) to mic my Milkman Half & Half and been satisfied but I'm wondering if there are advantages to DI-ing and what they might be. I'm not playing big venues, generally just little ones, so there's usually not big sound reinforcement or techs riding faders.
Opinions? Recommendations?

Re: DI boxes
I use the speaker compensated DI out in my Milkman The Amp 100. What comes through the monitors is a reasonably accurate reflection of what's coming out of my JBL speaker. I don't know if the Half and Half has the speaker compensation; if it doesn't, you could use a Two Notes Torpedo or some other impulse response box with it.
I don’t believe in pixie dust, but I believe in magic.
