I can’t get enough of this kid. Man, he’s got what he’s doin on slide DOWN. I never heard anyone on the planet play slide guitar like this.

he leans a little too heavy into the derek thing for my taste and he has kind of an ariel posen vibe which i could do with less of but he sure is a monster player

I don’t know how anyone can say with authority who’s the “better” player when you’re talking about guys at that level. Derek Trucks and Dylan Adams both blow my mind. I remember seeing Derek Trucks in Orlando at this little club — I think it was called “Crawdaddy’s,” though I can’t quite recall the name. I used to play there myself from time to time. Derek was just 12 years old, up on stage with musicians in their 30s and 40s, playing an SG through an old Blackface Super. It was incredible — this young kid in a Braves cap and shorts channeling Duane Allman right before our eyes.
Years later, I caught the Tedeschi Trucks Band. It was awesome, no doubt, but I’ll admit I went mainly to see Derek. Instead, I was hit with this massive wall of sound — horns, organs, synths, keyboards, and what felt like 90 other players. It was powerful, and honestly pretty amazing, but if I had my way it would’ve been more downsized. Still, like you said, definitely awesome
