Here's my C6th lap steel arrangement of "Twilight on the Trail",a beautiful old Cowboy/Western Swing ballad. If you're new to lap steel, unlike Hawaiian style where we are playing chords and dydads close together and subtly sliding and blocking to create a voice-like illusion of constinuous sound, in this style we have larger chord position leaps around the fretboard where the player ties things together by how they slide in and out and block these larger moves. Below is a midi of how the song sounds. If you are new to steel guitar, FYI, I have many more arrangements at volkmediabooks.com. Hope you enjoy this one!
