Tab, backing tracks for Hawaiian steel C6 vamps and licks

Post by Mike Bonnice »

Aloha all,

I've created a web site of vamps and licks for Hawaiian music. Here's the link:

https://mikebonnice.com/index.php/bag-o ... tice-songs

Long ago I tabbed up vamps and turnarounds and licks for Hawaiian music that I like. Then, I wanted to create a method to practice these licks. So, I built this web site. It has these features:
  • - backing tracks to play over, play will repeat forever
    - multiple tempos, multiple musical keys
    - able to select portions of a song for repetition
    - linkage between a song and the licks and vamps
There are currently 11 Hawaiian songs, with chord progressions and melodies. There are dozens of vamps and licks.

I suppose this is like a beta release. I run this web site locally on my Mac, so I know it works there. I put it on the internet so the world could benefit. Probably the world will be a more demanding environment than I've tested, so perhaps I'll discover flaws. Let me know if you find any!

I do enjoy making these practice songs. Mostly I choose them based on either their demonstration of a chord progression or because I'm practicing for upcoming performances. I can always add more and I'm open to suggestions.

That is an inspiring construction you have built, Mike!
Rehearsal loops are great to practice on. Thank very much!

Thanks, Mike. I just started on C6 lap steel, and this is a big help.
