Under Your Spell Again

Post by Bryce Van Parys »

I am coming up on completing my second year of steelin. I’m still learning from the masters. Here’s my take on Ralph Mooney’s solo from Buck Owen’s Under Your Spell Again. I’d welcome constructive feedback and pointers. I may have slipped a little Tom Brumley in there

Bryce

You've captured the right attitude to emulate Mooney's distinctive style.

Now go hit the Bandstand -

Great job Bryce. I remember trying to get a book of intros and turns that I could use to get some band's attention.
You'll love hearing how great you sound with a band to support you. Keep at it.

I'm in a band on Steel now doing a lot of 90s female artists' covers. www.BuckboardJunction.com Challenging stuff for sure

I'm working through the Buck Owens/Dwight Yoakam book from another band where I play bass, because one day I hope to be good enough at the Mooney/Brumley licks to sound authentic and slide over to that chair

Thanks for the encouragement!
