For years I played at church on a regular basis. Todays music has me running the other direction. I always like this song that I remember The Happy Goodmans singing.

Paul,
I had an aunt that died and she wanted that played at her internment.
I like the old gospel music, the contemporary church music played these days is nothing but 7 and 11 music.
Seven lyrics repeated 11 times.

Paul,
I attend a good old gospel preaching church and we pretty much stick to the old songs.
I hate attending those big churches, they seem to be more into the contemporary stuff.
It might just be a case of getting rather long in the tooth!

Larry Baker, I sure appreciate your kind words and friendship as well. Erv, seems like church today is geared around young people. They want it loud and be both know it is about being solid as a musician.

Paul,
Yes, but these churches need to keep in mind who's paying the preacher's salary and it's not the young people.
It's the old farts like you and me. :whoa:

I had a Pastor say this one time. "The young people are the church of tomorrow but they are not the ones paying the bills today". To be honest with you, what I see out of them today scares me for church down the road.

Paul,
I know what you mean.
Just look at what's going on in the Methodist Church.
I am a member of a little wooden church on the hill that happens to be Baptist.
Those big churches scare me. :whoa:
