Larry Lee Adkin's song - who played steel?

Post by Dale Rivard »

They played this on radio a bunch in the Detroit area when I 1st starting playing steel. I believe that's where Larry was living so I don't know if this was a regional hit or if it charted nationally? I always liked the song and the steel work, just not the message. lol It sounds like Sonny Garrish to me, does anyone know for sure?

My money is on Sonny!
Best lyric in a country song: "...One more, Moon..."

I'll put my money on Sonny Garish also. There is a Sonny listed on the front of that record label too.

Yep...I learned the steel on this too! Brad Preston sang it, Dale!

Reading the label on the left upper side it says Sonny was one of the producers.

I didn’t know Sonny did any producing. Gary Prim told me about Sonny being session leader and stories about working with him that were very interesting.

Thanks Paul and Tony! Nice Rene! I didn't have the ears to learn it back in the day but I'll be playing it on a couple of shows next weekend.
