Hi Roy,
You are probably not aware of the fact that the Dark Island is not an old Scottish melody but was composed by an islander within recent history and is under very strict copyright by MPS.
Although this right has been broken several times through ignorance rather than disrespect and an Irish singer has used it thinking it was an ancient Scottish tune but it is not.
However, it is an attractive melody composed in true Scottish tradition. I personally do hope there is a way through this as it is so very popular.
EVERY best wish Roy as I believe you are a legend in UK steel playing and it is very kind of you to consider this extremely popular melody made so famous by Calum Kenedy our legendary Gaelic singer.
