My good friend and student Smitty of Eagle River Alaska has lost his battle with cancer last night.a few years ago when Smitty couldn't play guitar anymore due to arthritis I gave him my Blanton SD-10 and he took to it like a duck to water,I am so saddened by Smitty's passing,He loved the steel guitar and got to attend the Phoenix show a few years ago and sat through the entire show along with his wife Rosalie...Godspeed Smitty.

Sorry to hear of Smitty’s passing Stu...I don’t think I ever met him in the ‘74-75 timeframe I was in Anchorage. We played at a bar up in the Eagle River area. Condolences to his family. Carl

Stu
It's really sad when you loose a good friend but on the bright side he's in no more pain and he will be watching you when you play so keep on picking until you meet again. God Speed for your friend Smitty.

Ron,Yes you got to hang out with Smitty and his lovely wife Rosie...I just flew back from Anchorage last night and shipped back Smitty's Blanton pedal steel guitar that Rosie has given to me ,I will be bringing this to pedal steel guitar guru Jon Light to get her back in shape so other steel guitar friends can come by and share!
