gif converts to jpeg
I have a gif tag animated image that opens fine in my computer file, but when I post a link to it online, it converts to a still jpeg tag. Is this the norm?
I don't see it available on the original host site where it was first posted anymore, so maybe that's the issue?

No, that is not normal. How and where are you posting the link and where is the actual file residing?

It's an image I saved to my computer from another site.
When I post the link to it here from my photo files, it comes up as a jpg. v. the gif file that is on my computer.
When I checked the original site some time back, the image had been deleted and I'm not sure I remember where it was hosted.
It's not all that important, I was just wanting to post it to the forum here when people have questions about the split tuning feature and how to use it.

Can you post a link to a private home computer? I don't think so. Have you tried uploading it to the forum? I believe GIF files work on the forum. If you want to just link to the file, you most likely need it residing on a website.

I heard from b0b about this issue and it is a software bug in the image upload plug-in.

The software that runs this forum is elderly, like most of us steel players. It is naturally slow.Jerry Overstreet wrote:Thanks. Like said, it wasn't a major problem. I can definitely live with things like they are.
Anyway, I would hope that animated images wouldn't slow things down here, but I don't know about that.
