RIP Lou Rochelle

A family member posted on Facebook that Lou Rochelle passed away yesterday. Lou suffered from Parkinson's.

Lou was a steel player, songwriter and singer.

Lou co-wrote "Still A Lot Of Love In San Antone" that has been recorded by many including Darrell McCall.

Lou is from the Waco Tx area but spent time in Florida. He used to come to our steel guitar jams. I wanted to record Still A Lot of Love in San Antone on a steel album and called Lou about getting permission and he graciously said I'll come over and sing on that for you. Probably the last time he recorded it.

Lou was such a great guy with a very funny and witty personality. I had the opportunity to play for him many times. He was a very good steel player as well as singer/songwriter. RIP Lou.

I met Lou at the Florida Steel Guitar Club Jams.
He was a very fine guy and I enjoyed the opportunity to be pickin' with him.
We all missed him when he moved away.

I met Lou "Somewhere in Texas" while working with my band "Memory Lane" I don't remember when or where but he always showed up at our dances. I really enjoyed getting to talk Shop with Lou! Rest in Peace Brother

Another Texas steel legend leaves us. Lou was a good pal, RIP my friend.

I was fortunate to play with Lou a number of times. A more pleasant person I never met. We were both older and had a mutual respect for each other. Go rest high on that mountain Lou, you have earned it. Prayers to the family.

I remember Lou when he would take me out to his car when he was at our Florida Steel Guitar Club jams to have me listen to his latest CD. I took his place on steel after he left the band he was in here in Florida...but he was so much better than I was back then. He was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him.

I don't know how I missed this one. It is very sad! A wonderful steel player and vocalist but most of all, a real nice human being.
We will all miss him.
