Pee Wee

Post by Eddie Freeman »

I too played music with Pee Wee around Texas City area. He was not only a fine musician, he was a fine person as well, I enjoyed the stories he used to tell about his days with Jim Reeves and the Blue Boys.
The whole family was very talented, playing many different instruments. As a matter of fact Pee wee
was the first fiddle player in the family band until Doug started playing, then Pee Wee switched to drums
and Cajon squeeze box.
Even Their Mother (Mamma Rita) played guitar, and I was fortunate to get to play a set with her when she visited Pee Wee at a club in Texas City where we had a little three piece band with Pee Wee playing drums and fiddle ( often at the same time)
I know I will miss him the rest of my life, I don't think I ever knew another like him, and probably wont again.Rest in peace my friend.
