The St.Louis Missouri region lost another great steel guitar player yesterday afternoon. Jerry enjoyed a long music career and was highly respected by his fellow musicians and friends. R.I.P. Jerry.
A long time dear friend who was an outstanding musician, machinist, and woodworker. We spent many weekends in the '60s talking, and building, pedal steel guitars. My sincere condolences to the Mandorca Family. May he Rest In Peace.

The Scott Family is saddened to hear of Jerry's passing. Jerry was part of the steel shows way back in the beginning in the 1960s. Our hearts and prayers go out to Jerry's family.
Jerry was a great guy, real name was Gerard Mandorca.
Jerry had ordered a T-8 Bigsby in 1949 that I acquired in 1998, with his stage name "Jerry Girard" on the front apron. Russ Wever put me in touch with him; we connected at the ISGC and had this photo op.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?
